Anna Spalek is a Vienna born, Bornholm based, ceramicist and craftsperson working at the intersection of art and design, with a focus on ceramic objects. Her practice draws on traditional techniques, which she reinterprets and places into contemporary contexts, allowing the past and present to meet in form. Often working cross-disciplinary, she incorporates the written word as element of her work, exploring how function and narrative can coexist - how objects can be not only for everyday use, but also for meaning.
